Led by the Holy Spirit we went again to the national shrine, Our Lady of Walsingham, on 21st September, as pilgrims from our Parish, Sacred Heart. It was another opportunity for reflection on what Mother Mary does for us in our faith. Like her, in this moment of prayer, we listened to God in order to discern His will for us too. We have an example in Mary’s trust and faith to respond to God: “Be it done to me according to your word”, for our spiritual happiness and peace.
Cardinal Vincent Nichols, in his homily, invited all of us to be “messengers of life and love, angels in our turn, in the footsteps of Gabriel, inspired by the sinless grace and beauty of Mary, our Queen and Mother.”
Seeing and interacting with others like us so open to God’s Son was a shining sign of hope and light. This affirmation of faith continues to give us tremendous joy and happiness. A good time and environment for prayer with the whole diocese for our parish community and the whole world we offered prayers and supplications to God through the intercession of Mary who became the Mother of Christ, the Son of God, by her total submission to the will of God. May she continue to intercede for us and the whole world.
We thank all the pilgrims for their presence and prayers. We acknowledge with appreciation the support of many other parishioners that aided us to make this holy journey.
